Weekending

What a relaxing and LONG weekend! However, long ones always make Mondays tougher don't they? Eh..stuffing my face with a bacon and egg croissant and OJ and hoping the day doesn't drag on. I do want to share some pics from the Durham trip though! We had such a blast (like we always do together) The first night we roasted hot dogs by the fire pit and rented movies. The next morning we had a huge breakfast at Elmo's Diner and I accompanied Tiff to get her first tattoo- yes you heard me correctly! I got to watch the entire thing which was only about 15 minutes tops and she was a trooper! Afterwards we toured her hubby's work and got to see his stadium view and headed to Iced Cupcakes which is run by one of our former bosses. The cupcake shop was so cute and if self-control isn't your thing....you probably shouldn't visit them. (haha) So many different cupcakes to choose from! I indulged in the red velvet Southern Belle just to name one. Visit if you are in the Raleigh area!

We also made some super simple fall themed votives using leaves, mason jars and hot glue (we found that the mod podge wasn't working well) and used an easy homemade apple sauce recipe. If you need the step-by-step and the recipe itself, visit Tiff's blog at Life in the Peck Lane because she'll be posting and sharing it there! Also, her hubby Joe is posting his version of the recipe over at Eco Joes (we did two batches) The entire house smelled absolutely ah-mazing and the applesauce was delicious! Perfect for Fall and definitely a must-try! Next we got ready for some gourmet Mexican (to-die-for) and went and saw Annabelle- ya'll...so scary that I lost my breath a few times. I didn't like it as much as The Conjuring but it was definitely jump-worthy scary- Whew! I want to thank both of them for such a fabulous weekend- I love going down to stay with them so much and miss them already!

ps- Miss Emma Jo got her bandages off and she is recovering so well. She is a little hesitant to put that leg fully down but she is getting better! Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!
