WHW: Kitchen Update

Wednesday, November 29, 2017
Hey y'all! Its time for What's Hap-'pinning' Wednesday and another home update. We're definitely making some progress on the kitchen and the white did indeed brighten everything up big time! Hubs and my FIL have primed and painted and now we just need to put them back and pick out a new hardware. We're trying to sell the appliances currently because they are fairly new and quite frankly, we just need them gone. Once they're out, we can put down the backer board and install the gray tile we have picked out. Hubs also finished covering the yellow walls with the new paint we picked out. It is in the gray family but super light. At night it seems darker and during the day it seems almost white. Its Possibility by Valspar.

I also FINALLY squeezed in some craft time with that gold spray paint I've been DYING to use. My Mama scored me a can of this spray paint that is literally always sold out at Michael's. I did a lot of research on which spray paint would most resemble antique gold which is my absolute favorite. The results are in and I adore it! Its brilliant gold (antique gold is good too) by Design Master. (You can get it here!)  I had bought some old, matted and thick frames from yard sales, etc with the intention on switching out the artwork and painting the frames gold. They seriously turned out so cute and I'm so sorry I didn't get a before picture. I did two small frames, 2 matted frames and one large mirror and still have a lot left over. I now want to paint everything in site and cannot be stopped!

its the first one pictured on the left!

And lastly, we also squeezed in some girl time when my friend Cici came in from SC to visit. Cheers to girl time, Christmas decor, home renos and crafting!

WHW: Home Snaps

Wednesday, November 22, 2017
Hey y'all and welcome to another What's Hap-'Pinning' Wednesday - Join me and Jenn and link up below as usual! Hopefully y'all are sharing some yummy Thanksgiving recipes because I am SO ready for tomorrow. We celebrate with both families and have a meal at noon and a meal at 6pm so I've learned to pace myself over the years. I'm so thankful we live close enough to visit both families in one day and I hope that never changes - now, bring on the beans, greens, casseroles, bird, etc

Anyway, today I'm sharing some of the demo we've been diving into lately. Luckily, we've finished all of the painting minus the kitchen and almost all of the furniture has arrived. (the couch debacle just updated its ship date to early December instead of January!) We still need a dining room buffet/sideboard but my MIL wants to help us out with that for Christmas (How fabulous is that?! Love her!) So we took out the old kitchen counter tops and we've decided on LG's Rococo Quartz since we've had granite and marble in the past. Also, like I mentioned before, we're keeping the cabinets but painting them a semi-gloss white which will really brighten up the space. We're only doing a back splash on the back wall where the stove is and the other walls we're just going to carry the counter top up another 4 inches. We have the backer board ready to go down for the flooring and then the appliances can come in after that. Hopefully instead of a white Christmas, we'll have a finished white kitchen!

In other updates, we finished the playroom for now and added the love seat from our old living room and corner cabinet for the TV. We painted the walls an oatmeal tan by Valspar and Andi simply adores the (her) space! The guest room is painted and staged for now as well as Andi's bathroom and the upstairs ceilings. (we even painted the fan to match in the upstairs hall) I'll report back once we fully get going on the kitchen and share more pictures.

Happy Thanksgiving Y'all and enjoy your holiday!

Weekending

Monday, November 20, 2017
Hey y'all and happy Monday/short week/Thanksgiving week! I"m not sure how we already got to Thanksgiving week and although I'm SO ready for the food and family time it brings I'm also sad at how fast it is all going already! This weekend was packed and I still haven't fully recovered. The sectional we ordered was delivered and it was the WRONG pieces. I seriously just about cried. They delivered two love seat sides instead of one love seat and one longer sofa piece that connects the two. After a ton of phone calls, we have a replacement order being processed with an anticipated delivery date of January 1st...I repeat....JANUARY. Again, I just about cried. I'm really hoping that it comes sooner like it did with the initial order.

Saturday I made an overdue trip to Hobby Lobby and snagged some new ornaments and decor including a new 7.5 Christmas tree because ours was missing a ton of lights this year (RIP buddy - 17 years old!) We're not using our 9 foot tree this year so we decided to get another 7 footer. I'm thinking that bad boy will go up tonight while listening to some old Christmas music - cannot wait. I also ordered new stockings and a new tree skirt from this new company I found called Merry Stockings. Y'all, I ordered 4 personalized stockings and a personalized tree skirt and it shipped the SAME day! I'm super impressed thus far and hope that when they arrive today I love them. (Went with ivory quilted and green monogram) of course I ADORE my old stockings but wanted a slightly different theme this year with lots of whites, blues and green instead of my usual burgundy.

Saturday evening we had our high school's annual auction and night out and it was so much fun! The theme was lights, camera, auction and everyone looked so fabulous. Can we talk about being 30 years old and drinking too much liquor? I knew I should've stayed with my usual wine - what was I thinking?! I was out of commission pretty much all day Sunday and then hung out with my Mama for The Walking Dead and slowly recovered. Whew y'all, old age is no joke. Anyway, I hope y'all had a fabulous weekend! Linking up with Biana today for weekending!

WHW: Ladies Gifts

Wednesday, November 15, 2017
Hey y'all! Welcome to another What's Hap-'Pinning' Wednesday - I'm going to also collaborate with the three fabulous ladies I joined last week for another gift guide. Tis' the season! Today is all about the ladies and of course I'm going to be channeling some of the items on my very own wishlist but also great ideas for any woman in your life!

I keep seeing everyone post their holiday decorated home pictures and I am LITERALLY scratching like an addict to join in on that fun....however, our sectional still hasn't arrived and for some reason I cannot put up our tree up until the living room is complete. I did get an updated shipping notification though - on or before the 17th! Hopefully my new pillows will be here shortly after and then - THE TREE! I'm just doing one tree this year, maybe two (but definitely not 5..womp womp)

We ordered a different color for the sectional (Hilo Flax) The white/cream is great but I love wine and have a toddler! I also added a green monogram to the blue leopard pillows to match the green ikat ones! Check out Wheaton Whaley Designs on Etsy if you're in the market for new pillows or super cute home decor! Y'all, here stuff is too dang cute!

Ok so shifting gears to what we're really here - this week's gift guide! Here are some of the things I've been swooning over lately and also some other good finds for any leading lady in your life! Link up with us as I link up with them! Happy Wednesday y'all!

Gift Guide for Kiddos

Wednesday, November 8, 2017
eeeek! Its officially the holiday season - yea I know, I'm TOTALLY shocked its here too! I'd be lying if I said I wasn't OVERLY excited though. The week before Thanksgiving is fair game for my decorating to begin and being in a new house makes it kind of exciting to figure out where everything is going to go from the tree to the tinsel. However, one thing I am not excited about is shopping (only because I haven't started whatsoever and I feel a tad overwhelmed) cue - researching gift guides from the best people in the biz - the blogging community! I'm so thrilled that these 3 fabulous ladies are hosting the ultimate gift guides each week from now through the beginning of December and today its all about the kiddos. So, without further ado, here is what I think is on Miss A's radar this year. Looking forward to seeing what everyone else lists!

WHW: Lately in Pics

Wednesday, November 1, 2017
Hey y'all and welcome to another What's Hap-'Pinning' Wednesday link up! Link up with us below to share what's going on with you! Today I'm recapping some fun stuff that has been going on lately via a picture dump. We've had friends in town including my niece for the weekend (unpacking) 25th anniversary homecoming at my high school (more unpacking) birthday parties (still unpacking) and just overall trying to get settled! Yesterday my office shut down early because the town closes off main street here for the littles on Halloween afternoon to go trick-or-treating. Miss A sported her absolutely precious (and hysterical) pineapple costume. I mean, totally fitting huh? Anyway have I mentioned how exhausting moving is? I think I need more wine! With that said, happy Wednesday y'all and oh my goodness happy November!
