Favorite Things: Stocking Stuffer Edition!

Tuesday, November 26, 2013

Thanks to Elise at Cheer's Ya'll & Jen with Down with the Dearmore's- it's time for Favorite Things Tuesday link-up again and this week we are covering stocking stuffers ya'll! I'm pretty simple when it comes to stockings (I basically just love being stocked with bathroom/beauty supplies and candy haha) so I'll focus on me for a sec but I want to focus on MEN! All the men in my life (my hubs, my Dad) seem so hard to shop for! They're the ones that always say "I don't need anything" or "Don't buy me anything" etc. etc. so I've been doing some research and I've come up with some neat items!

My Stocking usually consists of:

1. Anything sour gummy related! 2. Annnd again 3. Love basic Olay products 4. Dogeared necklaces are always great and compact too 5. Alex & Ani bangles anyone? 6. Cute wine glass markers for parties!

Now Here is what I'm working on for the men folk (if he stumbles upon this post, hopefully he'll forget haha) All of these items (& more!) I found at Art of Manliness

1. Pockt knife 2. Reference books for all life's happenings 3. airplane bottles 4. Everything Money/Tool Kit 5. Survival Kit packed with 25 items! 6. Beard Oil 7. Plaid Cards 8. Jerky/Snacks
9. Chocolate Covered Bacon <--- yes please!

Weekend in Photos: Beach!

Monday, November 25, 2013
Monday mornings are usually NOT welcome after a nice girls weekend at the beach however, tomorrow is my FRIDAY so I'm a little pumped about that to say the least. Oh by the way, so yesterday & last night winter decided to show up to the party and it was 18 degrees last night and maybe like 25 now. Hubs and I turned on the fireplace in our bedroom for the first time and I slept like a BABY! (with most mommy blogs that I follow..do babies really ever sleep? Just kidding!) Anyway, I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend and is staying warm! Here's to short weeks, Thanksgiving & Christmas mode on Friday!

Reunited & it feels so good!! Love her!!

Pomegranate Martini for her Hendricks Gin Elderflower for me

We also made homemade holiday sangria! Pinot Grigio, Club soda, White Grape Juice garnished with
Fresh Cranberries, Granny Smith Apples and Sugared Rosemary Sprigs! (Make sure it is really chilled!)

Beach was completely empty! (because it was negative 30 degrees hahaha) so peaceful though!

5 on Friday

Friday, November 22, 2013

Happy Friday ya'll! Don't be jealous or anything but I'm leaving work early, packing the car and headed down to the beach for a girls weekend with my college roommate (and most recently Maid of Honor) Heather -so today hopefully won't go by too slowly!  Her and her hubby live by the beach and run a super cute restaurant down there and since they may...or may not.. :) be actively trying to expand their family in the near near future- we are getting in some wine time ladies!

Since this is the last Friday before Thanksgiving I want to sort of center it around the table with some place setting ideas that I love. Seems appropriate right? Seth & I do Thanksgiving with his family every year (since we first met) because his family has all the cooks! On the flip-side, we do a big annual Christmas eve dinner/party with my family. This year I'm in charge of some appetizers so ANY suggestions are welcome! As usual I'm linking up with April at A. Liz Adventures, Natasha with Hello Happiness, Darci at The Good Life Blog and Christina with Carolina Charm so head over and check them out. Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

Simple touches like painted pine cones & I love gold!

Basically I'm in love with these plates!!

Pumpkins= you cannot go wrong and look at the sequin detail!

cornucopia theme!

We actually did this two years ago and made everyone write what they were thankful for on a leaf,
then we hung all the leaves from thin tree branches we collected and spray painted
with gold glitter. It makes a gorgeous centerpiece!

Also, I wanted to throw in a shout out! One of my friends from high school has started a new blog to document the goings on of her family and brand new baby boy! I believe she was nervous at first but it just went live and it looks great- if you have some time, head over and show her some love!
