Happy Friday ya'll and happy Halloween! Any big plans on the agenda this evening? I'm just hoping I have some trick-or-treaters in our new neighborhood. In our old one (even though it was right in town) we never had a single one! I mean, someone has GOT to take this candy AWAY from me! Anyway I hope everyone has a safe and fun weekend and I'll see ya back on Monday- Linking up today with the usual gang of pretty ladies: Christina, April, Darci, Natasha , Amanda over at Meet @ the Barre and Karli with September Farm - join in! Oh and don't forget the cute little gender poll I added on the right hand side of the blog! Would love to see ya'lls predictions.

So this happened for my 'costume' today! I'm so in love and followed the easy tutorial from last year on Carolina Charm!

My favorite look of the week goes to the flawless Kate Hudson! She snagged two of my fav looks at two different events- Gah I just love her (almost as much as Jessica Simpson)

Need a quick hostess gift for a Halloween party tonight or this weekend? Look how cute this craft is: (and we all know you have at least one empty wine bottle and cork lying around)

Entertaining this weekend? Check out this recipe for yummy apple cider sangria! (Can I please have a virgin?) Recipe Here From Meet the Sullivans

Favorite moment this week? That fabulous Redskins win over the Cowboys Monday night and miss Emma Jo's embarrassed reaction for all the Cowboys fans out there (aka my husband) oh and she's on her Redskins blanket too...love.

And speaking of the Redskins, can we just take a moment to remember an old throwback Halloween college pic? hahaha Go Skins!(Radford and myself- senior year!)

Weekending!

Monday, October 27, 2014
You know what I realized? I love these: !!!! - Let's see how many I have in one post. (haha) This weekend was so fabulous. I spent Saturday spoiling Heather and the twin girls at her baby shower, got to see some Hollins gals in the process and even planned an upcoming girls weekend with them at my house in 2 weeks! (<--there's one..ok I won't..) This was the first baby shower I have ever thrown and I'd say despite the last minute venue and city change due to the girls arriving early, everything was just perfect! We were so overloaded with pink and I loved every second of it. Her nursery theme is a mermaid/aqua & pink so I tried to incorporate that a lot. She was even able to take home the printed monograms I framed since they would match the nursery as well. Overall it was fabulous and I was so emotional seeing my best friend so happy and spoiled!

Sunday was also...absolutely wonderful. Slept late, relaxed, bought a ton of Halloween candy which may or may not have been the best idea and binge watched season 2 of Nashville. Yup, totally lazy with bed pillows and blankets on the couch for the win! I hope ya'll had a great weekend as well! I'm linking up with the lovely Biana at B Loved Boston today for Weekending:

From Etsy I ordered her crochet mermaid suits!
Our Friend Edie sent t-shirts from their
wedding venue ya'll! So cute!

Hollins represent!

Sorry Hill...

Wishes for Baby that I am going to put in a scrap book for her for Christmas this year!

Of course baby O was making an appearance and Cici gifted him/her a special
edition Spidy book! (I collected Spider-man things in high school so this is great!)

Saturday I am throwing Heather's twin baby shower for her little girls and I am so excited to see everyone. The girls are doing fabulous and are so dang cute and still hoping to be able to come home around December! The theme is under the sea/mermaids and I wish I could post a pic of her gift (but of course she would peek!)

Baby Baylor in her pick onesie!
Miss Maddy!

My Favorite quick and easy recipe this week? These Asian Chicken Salad Lettuce Wraps I could eat these things every day!

This one is for the Hubs- the ultrasound tech added a little message for the dad-to-be when she caught baby O basically waving! SWOON!

Big News in the Otey Household!!

Wednesday, October 22, 2014
I think ya'll know what's coming and I've been dying holding this information in for TWELVE WEEKS! - But Seth and I would like to announce:

Baby O will make his or her debut on or around May 2nd 2015 ya'll!

Doesn't the hubs look thrilled here? Story to follow! haha

It all went down back in August...Friday, August 23rd to be exact. I was planning/helping out with a good friend's wedding and hubs was actually a groomsman in the wedding. That morning before work I decided to take a pregnancy test...just to make sure before I went to this wedding and started drinking the night away....sure enough, I was 100% pregnant! I took another....yup! I remember just crying with joy as I got into the shower, trying to be quiet so I wouldn't wake hubby. I know that sounds weird not to tell him right away but we were about to have such a busy weekend and practically be separated the entire time since he was a groomsman and I was the planner so I decided to KEEP IT A SECRET until Sunday when we got alone time together to relax. (sooo hard ya'll) Sunday rolled around and I made a little bun in the oven card and of course saved the peed on tests for his enjoyment (haha) he was over the moon thrilled and I'm pretty sure I saw a tear or two but don't tell him I told you!

Seth received the temporary transfer to Ohio only a week or so later so we were forced to tell our parents a lot sooner than expected (I would've told mine anyway I'm sure of it) but he wanted to be around to tell his in person. We also had to cautiously take these pumpkin announcement photos bc I knew when the time came he would already be gone...  Needless to say our parents were absolutely over the moon! (We told his parents on his Dad's birthday with one of his presents being a "Grandpa Can Fix It" onesie! They had no idea!) It was terrible having to say goodbye to him but I figured it was definitely better to be gone the first three months and not the last! My parents have each come to the ultrasounds and appointments thus far and every time I hear that fast little heartbeat (coming in at about 160 beats per minute) my world stops (and I get in trouble for crying and making the screen jump!) We will be 13 weeks on Saturday and I am seriously the happiest person in the world. So blessed and so ready for this journey! Thank ya'll for always being there and thank you Lord!

PERFECTION at yesterday's ultrasound!
