Five on Friday

Friday, February 21, 2014

Happy Friday lovelies! Has this week gone by super fast for anyone else? Has this week been filled with above 60 degree temps every day for anyone else? Loving it! I'm linking up with the usual gang (Christina, April, Darci & Natasha) for a bit of a random Friday 5. Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

This is random (since I do not have children) but this is incredible! Have ya'll heard of http://www.infantswim.com/ ? Children from 6 months to 6 years of age learn how to use Infant Swimming Resource’s Self-Rescue skills to save themselves in dangerous situations! Sounds hard to believe? Watch the video! When my sister posted it I was like "Wow! Go babies!"

We have picked out are absolute fav inspirations photos for our future kitchen in the new home! We are going with a steel/blue-grey painted cabinet and light counter-tops (we have black granite and light cabinets now so it'll be a nice change of scenery)

With the above stated, we are currently trying to decide between Carerra Marble or a Granite look-a-like. What do ya'll think? Anyone have experience with either? (I know granite is tougher but with the right sealant Carerra can be good too)

Both are attractive! (marble left kashmir white granite right)

I saw this swimsuit from Anthropologie and instantly fell in love!

That swimsuit matches my china pattern, blue willow obsession and even my number tabs today doesn't it?  #BlueObsessed

The built-in china cabinet in the new home is brown...hmmm contemplating a paint job but not sure....

    1. I'm thinking the same! It's just none of the tiger oak woodwork has been touched since 1850 so I'm torn! haha (but man I love a good blue on white)

    1. I like our dark granite but it shows more crumbs, etc! Lighter will be a nice change! :)

  10. Hey Jessi- happy Friday!
I've seen the infant swimming video before and half of me is like yeah! go babies! The other part of me just wants to shake the adult that kept pushing the baby under (it was a different video). If I ever have a pool with a little one, it would be fenced off, no questions. I wouldn't want to risk the chance that my child could get into the water, EVEN IF they had been trained to roll over and float.

I also love your kitchen ideas - I posted some of my favorite kitchen must-haves today over at my blog. Personally, I love the marble. My mom has marble counter tops and though I've always heard they are easier to stain, she's never had a problem with them. I think the swirls in the marble would look great with your gray cabinetry!

Have a great weekend and I can't wait to hear more about the house!

    1. Thank you for the suggestion! I really like the marble as well! I agree about the fence thing but it was neat to see them trained to swim at such an early age! Thanks for stopping by!

    1. Yea that's the only downfall and possible staining- but with the right seal I'm hoping we might be able to pull it off (however we don't have kids yet so we should take that into consideration too haha)
