WHW: Girls Getaways

Hey ya'll and happy Wednesday! I've been sort of MIA lately. There has been so much going on around here I feel like and I'm literally slammed through the weekend! I pray next week is slower...I know that sounds funny coming from a SAHM but it seems like we have something going on every single day until Sunday. This includes 2 home tours so I've got some mega cleaning ahead of me. Home tours? Yup, I've got much to share with ya'll soon about my potential in-home childcare taking off....where's the wine? Just kidding!

Anyway, today I'm talking about girl time! My girlfriends and I decided back in 2009 when we graduated from college that we were going to do a yearly reunion trip. We kicked it off and went to Charleston, SC back in 2010 and had the absolute best girls weekend getaway. Guess what? That was the LAST time it happened! Weddings, babies, etc. came along and we kept taking breaks. A few weeks ago I decided we needed to get this trip back on the books. After talking it over, we sent out a mass e-mail about it and decided to set a fixed date that never changes. The destination will change to better accommodate everyone each year but the date/weekend stays the same. This way we all know when it is, when to plan, etc. and if you can go then great and if you can't then great! (for lack of a better phrase) Basically everyone agreed immediately and I am over the moon excited! Even if only 2 people can commit on a given year, we will still do it. The second weekend in June is now OUR weekend and I am pumped!

This year, since its sort of last minute, we are all just heading down to the Chesapeake to my bay house. That way, it'll be free for the ladies and we can focus on planning a bigger trip next year. I want to know some fun girls getaway locations so throw them at me! It doesn't matter where it is! I've got a few places in mind that I definitely want to put on the books and I'd love to do another Charleston weekend for sure!
