Weekending

Monday, September 1, 2014
Morning ya'll! Somehow it is Monday already. We had such a relaxing but productive weekend. First of all we are upstairs now people! Second floor here we come! Hubs cleaned out the guestroom and finished the wall and opening (sheet rock, etc) for the new entryway to the guest bathroom. We also removed all of the old flooring so we could place the backer board down for the new tile. It is starting to shape up into a cute little space and I am so glad we decided to 'un-connect' it from the hall bath so that the guests can have their own separate bath. We purchased pretty longer tiles for this space in a pale, almost khaki color and haven't decided what color we are painting the vanity and the claw foot tub yet. (also, the medicine cabinet mirror is being replaced with a flush to the wall mirror) Hubs also voted to do an antique railroad theme in this room so he has started ordering little touches for the space. Another neat touch he decided to do is the hanging barn-door like door for the bathroom. The large 6 paneled door is being fastened above the bathroom entryway and will slide side to side versus having a traditional door. The hardware came in last week and I think it'll look great- (stay tuned!)

We weren't able to make it to the wedding this weekend due to a conflict with his work schedule but we were able to visit a new church for the first time, spend time with my parents AND score an awesome haul after visiting one of my favorite Amish families in an Amish community not far from  where my parents live. Mom and I also made 4 loaves of some kick-a** zucchini bread ya'll! I haven't made it in years and now I'm addicted. Not to mention it is a favorite of the hubs. I'll type up the recipe and share on Friday so check back! Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!

Linking up today with the lovely Biana from B Loved Boston for Weekending!
