WHW: Table Setting

Wednesday, August 10, 2016
Ok ya'll,  I adore throwing a party or casual get together with friends and when it comes to the art of entertaining, it’s all in the details right? No really its simple and it definitely doesn't have to be scary! I have to admit that I'm already making a list of things I need for our annual Christmas party (this will be our 3rd one and it keeps getting bigger and bigger!) When thinking about decor and table set-up, the perfect tablescape may include gorgeous silverware and china, decorative chargers and a centerpiece, homemade crafts and accents or dollar section steals -- but what about the table setting itself? With so many rules and elements to think about, it can be difficult to know exactly how to set the proper table for your event.

Most of the time, you may not need to be so formal but sometimes its nice to know just in case you want to step it up. (there's even a proper way for laid back buffet style!) I want to start hosting a supper club type deal at our home so I've been looking at different ideas lately which led me to these helpful guides. To help you follow the right table setting rules, FTD created these excellent (and pin-worthy) guides that illustrate where each plate, fork, spoon, and wine glass belong in a proper table setting. They're perfect for pinning and saving for future reference! From formal to informal, and from basic to casual, there is a place setting that’s fitting for any occasion so go and check it out! Afterwards, you’ll be on your way to becoming the hostess with the mostest! With that said, cheers to you and your next event or dinner party!

Weekending

Monday, August 8, 2016
Hey ya'll! I hope you had a fabulous weekend! Miss Andi and I joined my parents at the bay for a little getaway and the weather was perfect. We spent all day Saturday on the beach and grabbed dinner both nights at our new favorite spot The Table. Ya'll, if you are ever in the Deltaville area you must try that place! It's little, with about 5 eat-in tables and everything is 5-star! We have never had anything we disliked and the choices and menu items change depending on availability.  I give it two thumbs up and the owner is fabulous as well! I love little shabby-chic places like that and I hope it does extremely well. I'd even love to open up something like that around here!

Sunday we headed to Target and TJ Maxx and I snagged some super cute pineapple stationary and almost pulled the trigger on this adorable banana leaf quilt with pink backing but ended up not getting it because I have no idea where I would put it....I so want it though!

Mama was shopping for my cousin's baby shower next weekend in VA Beach and I'm pumped because she's taking Andi with her! My aunt is over the moon happy to see her and hasn't stopped preparing for her and talking about it. Seth and I have a wedding on Saturday so it works out perfectly! Anyway, last night we watched a few more episodes of Friday Night Lights over wine and had a quiet night (I'm starting to cry in like every single one now...now that I have a daughter, the greatness of this show hits even closer to home) Oh! I watched a movie on Netflix before Seth got home from work - a Nicholas Sparks one - The Best of Me. Have ya'll seen that? Oh my heavens I sobbed (I mean sobbed) gah he does it again!

WHW: Lately

Wednesday, August 3, 2016
Hey ya'll and happy mid-week link up day! Just a reminder - ya'll can grab our button below and share anything that is currently happening in your life or trending right now! It doesn't have to be Pinterest related if you haven't browsed lately. Today I'm playing catch up since I've been MIA this week. There hasn't been too much going on around these parts except for the countdown to finished siding. It is looking better and better each day and the crew is thinking two more weeks!

Over the weekend I went to a friend's baby shower and also had a movie night. We watched The Big Short and Secret in Their Eyes. The 2nd one was more up my alley and man did they make Julia Roberts look awful. I believe it's a book and if so, I'm SUPER bummed I didn't read it. Hubby liked the Big Short and I hate to admit it but I feel asleep in the end. I know, I'm old.We did have a super cute dinner in the living room while watching cartoons with Miss A. She sat in between us and shared our pizza (her first real pizza) and it was so adorable watching her go back and forth to us both as we offered up pretty much our entire dinner. Gosh I love that little girl! Oh and my Mother-in-law dropped off her camera from our beach trip and let me go crazy!

This week so far has been pretty relaxing with only one extra kiddo and we're packing up and heading to the bay house on Friday before my weekends get crazy with weddings, bachelorette etc. Speaking of Bachelorette, did ya'll watch the finale? Spoiler alert if you haven't...who didn't see Jordan winning? I ADORED Jojo as this year's bach but I'm pretty sure the second she knew Jordan was a Rodgers, she had to have him. (sorry not sorry - and she knows he's a 'former' pro QB right?) On the flip side, I can't believe another season is over! I'm just pumped they followed it up with the hot mess express AKA Bachelor in Paradise. Bring on that crazy train because I love it and refuse to get off - no shame in my game. Ya'll have a great day and link up below!

Friday 5

Friday, July 29, 2016
Hey ya'll and welcome to the weekend! Despite a mini stomach virus earlier in the week, we're doing great and still staying indoors to beat the heat. (I know I say it all the time but come on Fall! pa-leeease) I'm linking up today with April from A. Liz Adventures, Amanda over at Meet @ the Barre and  Karli with September Farm. Be sure to join in and have a fabulous weekend!

 1. I've been sending out a few orders lately of Jessi's Design Bows and wanted to share the new patterns on here again. Feel free to comment here if you'd like any - one for $5 or two for $8. Thanks ya'll!

2. What does my family do after a gross stomach virus? Head to Chuy's to refuel on Mexican of course (I know, so odd) I enjoyed a little family date night of shopping and Mexican on Wednesday night with these two. I mean, how cute are they in their high-five, dream team pic?

3. Ya'll, look how cute and gorgeous my niece looks in her first Lilly dress from none other than good ole' aunt Jessi? She was so excited and it melted my heart! I think I need to load her up from now on! Lookin' good Chloe!!

4. Favorite funnies this week:

5. Favorite Recipe: We've been doing a lot of cold recipes and salads since it has been so dang hot and this Asian variation has been on repeat lately! (also tastes ah-mazing with a ginger dressing)

WHW

Wednesday, July 27, 2016
Hey y'all! So would ya believe that another (but mini) stomach bug just hit us?! Ugh! I recovered pretty quickly and thankfully it skipped Miss A again but it hit the hubs hard. I'm talking, run to the store and buy everything from pedialite, crackers, gatorade and gingerale. (You know, when tbe cashier doesn't want to look at you bc they think they might get sick type of situation!) I didn't have any kiddos yesterday because of it and none today as well so I'm catching up on some cleaning and household stuff while hubby rests. I think Andi and I might go shopping later for a friend's baby shower this weekend so that'll be a nice little outing and change of scenery!

Anyway, I didn't have a post planned so I'm just going to share some random Pinterest favorites I've been hoarding lately. (think porch styling and new laundry room makeover ideas) Don't forget to grab our button below and link up with us every Wednesday for what's hap-'pinning'! Have a great day!

I love everything in these pins! I really want to incorporate that palm leaf pattern in our home!

We have a good sized laundry room so the sky is the limit on this makeover!

These prints I found on Etsy but haven't purchased yet - I scored 6 over the top gold frames
awhile back and need to fill them!

'Week'ending

Monday, July 25, 2016
Hey ya'll! I'm back and I've missed ya'll! I look forward to catching up on what everyone has been up to today over (much needed) coffee. The week we had at the beach was absolutely fantastic and the weather cooperated every single day. Andi was incredible and proved yet again that she was made for the sun and sand. She is even sporting her first tiny tan-line ya'll! We didn't squeeze any shopping in this year at the outlets but I think it's because we didn't have a rainy day this year! We definitely managed to eat seafood each night and the family time was fabulous. I must admit that when I woke up without 17 other people around me it was odd and way too quiet. The week literally flew by! I head back in September for a week with my Mama and I'm definitely already in count down mode for that!
Me when the last beach day rolled around....
On the home front, the siding guys barely got one day in while we were gone so I'm hoping over the next 2 weeks that they will rock it out. I can't imagine it being bearable in this dang heat though! It is straight up too hot to breathe outside - ugh bring on Fall! I finally got hubby hooked on Friday Night Lights so when we binge episodes each night, it really makes us yearn for Fall and football season! The kiddos are back today so I'm getting back into a routine and also trying to map out everything we have going on in the next few weeks. I feel like we're slam packed - we have a wedding in northern VA, bachelorette in Charleston, another bay trip and a baby shower just to name a few! Anyway, I'm linking up with Biana and Meghan today for Weekending! Join in!
